strut question 200

Don't know about spacers. As for your clunk, I felt like a fool for pressing out perfectly good looking front control arm bushings when the obvious failure (after disassembly) was in one of the rear bushings. I also did the ball joints, tie rod ends, struts and strut mounts.

So on the positive side, I have a pretty tight, brand new front end under my '82 250K mile turbowagon. On the minus side, I could have fixed the clunk for less than $30 but threw $300 worth of parts (and $50 labor for bushing pressing) at the problem. Most of the stuff I pulled off did not look excessively worn. Waiting is the problem sometimes. It takes 4 or 5 days for FCP parts to get to me, Sometimes you'd rather just pay extra to have the stuff when you need it, even if you don't need it.
