Does you car now start? Perhaps the blue/yellow wire is on the wrong spade terminal at the starter. Should be on the one closest to the driver's fender.

Is your alternator working properly? Have it checked at a parts store that offers the service. Pull your voltage regulator from the unit and check the brushes for adequate length.
