Hmmm, not enough top end... 140-160

You don't mention what the ignition timing is set at Kyle. Make it 10 degrees BTDC, and then (while wearing safety glasses) observe the ignition advance at the crank while the engine is revved slowly to about 3500 RPM. You should see something around 34-36 degrees at that RPM. If not, the distributor advance mech is a bit tight. Be sure you have not connected the vacuum hose to the distributor. Leave it off always.
