alternator fixed, forgot where the wires go 200 1981

Have had charging problems. Took off my alt. today, took it to local auto electric shop, $20 for new brushes... charges like a champ all 3 phases @ 50 amp load. Everyone should do this BEFORE replacing a perfectly good alternator. This one is ridiculously dirty (apparently irrelevant) and I was ready to get another one (totally unnecessary).

I also replaced some rotted out wire: cut, soldered on new wire and spades. The one to the alternator and the sensor by it (what is that?). Also the double wire to a pierburg thing (not carb) and a single wire to the starter.

Initially, no start, wild light show on the dash at rpm rate. Switched pierburg/starter wires, started. However, it doesn't run well, temp gauge is pinned, no fuel gauge reading, strong battery idiot light or oil idiot light depending on if I switch the alternator/sensor cables. I think I'm screwed, notwithstanding the now good charging. Any ideas much appreciated.
