Wow, I had no idea that some aspect of the inner workings of these cars was changed so radically in 1990. The 140/240 model FAQ indicates no major internal changes in the cars that year, other than the addition of the driver's airbag.

What did Volvo change that requires the switching of the pedals, the removal of the cruise mount bracket, and all of the other stuff that you've listed, in order to get an earlier cruise control kit to work?
