I have both types sitting in a box in the garage, and I don't see why the older cruise would not work on the newer cars. Yes the gas pedal needs to be changed but thats not a big job (3 or 4 screws). The wiring for both is virtually identical. You could splice most of the connections for the old system into the existing plug for the later cruise, as long as you have your wire colors worked out. If you acess to the earlier type I'd adapt it rather then trying to find the newer type, because the newer type is harder to come by and seems to go for more money. The only reason I like the newer type better is because it has its own vacuum pump.
