Rust is the main enemy of 240s. Check the floor seam along the rockers.

Rust can all be fixed but it takes time to do it yourself. There are plenty of people on board (including me) who have refused to let rust defeat them. Get under the car and check everything. Post the findings.

Doors can be patched or replaced.
