Is vacumm effected at intercooler drain? 700

I have a mystery vacumn leak that closes my vents on acceleration with a/c on.
88 760 wagon.

I have replaced both check valves, and sealed off hoses as best I can.

I tried undoing the drain on the intercooler to drain any oil in the bottom. Wound up stripping the plastic thing. Also put a small hole in it trying to get it off with an awl. Could this hole cause a vacumn leak? Or is vacumn only after the AMM?
