ECT sensor 900

Can't disagree with that, but it does raise my eyebrows. There are many ways an ohmmeter can be damaged that result in extremely wrong readings, yet I can't think of any thermistor sensor I've ever measured that shorted, rather than opened, and even more unlikely-- shorted both elements.

If you're looking for a sanity check for your ohmmeter, try the gauge sender.

Did you measure this through the wiring with the sensor in place on the head?
