Adding a Second Remote S90-V90

I bought a second remote on eBay for my wife for our 'new' 98 V90. I believe them to be the same remote models. They appear identical.
I went through the ignition on/off five times drill...about ten times. I hear the small chirp sound from the remote, but the eBay one simply does not program to my car. It was from a 97 960. Looks identical to the original that came with the V90. I switched batteries around between the two and it seems batteries are not the issue as the eBay remote batteries power the original remote just fine.

Any suggestions?
