We just intalled a new trunk seal on our '66 122 yesterday. There was a good thread a little while back at:
http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=865326&show_all=1
Our old seal did not go over the lip of the opening into the trunk. The new seal does go over the lip. Our car has two rubber stops on the trunk lid that are now compressing the new seal to the poing where it looks like the seal will be damaged in short order.
We are wondering if the "over the lip" seal and rubber stops on the trunk perform the same function and are incompatible. The car seems to be _very_ original so we suspect that the old seal and stops were both factory installed.
