I question whether those itty-bitty switch contacts are rated for continuous solenoid current of around one amp, and momentary current of several times that. The wires that go down the shifter are also pretty light gauge, as I recall.

This might be the time when using the momentary switch you already have with a OD relay from an 1800S (Duane M. can certainly provide) isn't really the simplest and most robust solution.
