You should be able to see what's frozen when you pull the inside cover off. It's not too hard to remove, but be careful of the upper corners of the panel- the fingers break off regularly.
Once inside you should be able to see the lock motor and the back side of the lock cylinder down in the door. Soak everything with PB Blaster or similar penetrating oil, and you can also remove clips and linkages to get parts of it to move separately.
