Very commom problem with volvo aw 70, 71 + 72 trannys. Most likley is the bushing in the tail shaft is worn and causes the exact vibration you describe. See http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/TransmissionAuto.htm#Trans_Output_Shaft_Bushing
I had mine replaced at a garage for $250. Next time I'd do it myself. Good luck.
