Check your tailgate wiring harness where it goes through the hinges
on top of the car. If you look into the "gaps" in the hinges, you
might be able to see broken wires (that are touching each other and
causing current to go places it shouldn't).


Replacement is a PITA best done by 2 people, and takes about 2 hr.
