Sure sounds like the tailgate harnesses to me.... I've done that repair to 8-10 245s that I've owned in the past...

On one car, the rear wiper would sweep when I hit the brakes.

The bright-dim-bright-dim lights might be worn alternator brushes. Usually, they're good for something like 200k miles, more or less.
