i am in the process of putting in my transmission also...a couple of months ago i put a transmission in my wife's 90 245, i found by having it in gear and turning the tail shaft with one hand while wiggling the transmission side to side some how helped it slip in ,,,it was the first time i had ever replaced a volvo trans. beginner's luck?...blessings...kris
