Big Drivability Problem 200

When did you last change your timing belt?

If it slipped a tooth or two the engine would do what you are describing...

At first I was thinking of a stuck open injector... But that would only affect one hole. A blown headgasket would affect two at most but the engine would still rev up fine... BUT...

If you have jumped a tooth or two out of camshaft time, the engine would act just as you have described...

Put a timing light on #1 and check the timing if you can keep it running... If not, pull the front cover and check the timing alignment marks...

Just my thoughts,

Steve
