header pipe 200 1991

Rob,
Thanks for the input.
I was going to replace this header pipe only because the mounting hardware on the header is rusted away to nothing and there is no longer any connection there.
While doing the cat/back replacement of parts, my mechanic friend whose lift we were using said, "that's your anchor, I'm suprised you haven't cracked the exhaust manifold"
It sounds as though your evperience is that it's not been a necessary 'anchor'
Correct?
