Hmmm...This sounds suspiciously like a 544 that was aucctioned on eBay a few weeks ago. As I recall the reserve was too high for the inital auction so it had to be re-run.

Since I live on the Left Coast, I tend not to bid on large items on the Right Coast, so it was probably in or near the area where you last knew of it.

You might try doing a search on eBay Motors under Passenger Vehicles for "volvo+544" in the Completed Auctions section.

That yellow color and extra work under the hood reminds me very much of the car you describe.

Have you considered trying to get the current owner's info from your motor vehicle department? If you have the VIN they may be able to help you.
