I don't know how often this happens, but it startled me when it did: It was cold in the garage; the 500w light was only on for a minute when the halogen tube exploded sending those little cubes of the tempered glass cover all throughout the garage. The lamp had probably 20 hours of uneventful use (original bulb) prior; I just replaced the whole lamp. I doubt there was any injury risk, just glad that plate glass was there.
Yes, lack of good light and inability to focus were never obstacles for me at age 35.
