Rear tailight replacement problem 200 1989

this drove me crazy, there is a way but to me its not worth it (involves a bridge on one tab, and removeing the little plastic pins on the housing. what i do now if using the wrong tailights is in the white connector i remove the white wires(foglights) and install the yellow wires in the place where the whites were. you lose the fogs, move the brake lights to fog light location. dont know what to tell you if you only have one old taillight and one new taillight. thats my experience. good luck
