SAABs 700

I have driven a SAAB 900 (pre 1993) before I got 740. My beloved '87 SAAB saved me in a head-on collision with another car (brand new Toyota).
SAAB handles way better than a 700/900 Volvo, also much better due to FWD.
I would say engines are even more indestructible than Volvo's but the transmissions (esp. auto) are weak. Enormous cargo space on 3/5 door versions, it can almost compare to wagons.
Servicing is rather involved with potential disastrous result if one does not know SAABs.
If buying a SAAB, buy only one that it well maintained, preferrably from a fan.
