PV544 Window Cable 444-544

Hello Dane: I have a few suggestions.

Did the cable actually "snap"? Sometimes the lead filled slug that attaches to the bottom window rail, actually lets go of the cable. I fixed this once, many years ago, by repositioning the cable, then opening the twisted cable above and below, then passed a copper wire around the slug and soldered it back in place - worked until the 544 went to the bone yard.

Another possibility is that the lugs of the chain may have slipped off of the toothered crank wheel, if the tension got too loose.

If SwedishTreasures (also in Fayetteville) cannot supply you with a new one, then I can give you a used spare from my parts bin, just north of Massena, NY.

Good luck.
