HS6 synch 140-160

The fuel pressure should be good because it's still using the regular carburator pierburg style pump... But yeah, the guy who's selling it did mention taking apart the bowls a bit and cleaning out some gunk. I asked him if he took them all the way apart and cleaned them out and he said no because he didn't know how to do that or if he wanted to deal with it.

So, what do you suggest I do? Take them off and check for grit and get it out of there, but then what? I have a new filter, but what's there to stop it from happening again, maybe while I'm cruising on the highway, and then all of a sudden I smell gas, and then next thing I know my hood's smoking away because of the fire underneath...? Scary! =D Thanks for the advice John, much appreciated!
