I second the recommendation to mount the radio in the lower location. My Pioneer (good choice, GREAT sound) is mounted in the upper location, and I'm strongly considering moving it down. The display is bright and distracting when driving at night; I tend to flip the faceplate down to keep it from annoying me on long drives.
Edit: I'll also plug Crutchfield on this one. I bought my unit from them, they include the adaptor plates and wiring harness adaptors FREE with any radio you buy from them. The same gear would have added $30+ to the price of a receiver at Circuit City, etc. The adaptors they sent me for my 240 included both upper and lower mounting methods, though I can't find the lower mounting bracket at the moment...
