026 dizzy 120-130

Thanks George.

Due Iīve a B18A engine complemented with one ZS175CD carb,a C cam and an 026 dizzy (a non orthodox mix), this week I adquire a cheap K-775 kit with a dwell meter as a plus (rara avis here, tech instruments for carburated cars are scarse here). Of course, new gadget, new toy, new test: and the dwell of my dizzy was 54 degress (and 59-64 is the norm).

Due it, I take the dizzy and adjust the points breaker spacing to 0.014 (a bit less of the usual 0.016), and make some cleaning and painting (a reason for a fresh photo). After I put the dizzy again aboard, the dwell was 59 degrees.

Now the engine run a bit more smoothly, and I can reduce the idle speed from 950 to 800 rpm and optimize the carb mix using the tachometer option of the kit (good trick, it is bit more fine of the Haynes traditional method).

Bad luck, that kit donīt measure emissions (life is not perfect).

Happy volving!
