Seems like a lot to me too but it will depend on things like condition
of your throttle shafts, other air leaks, etc. All these things require
you to set the mixture rich to get it to idle OK and respond to the
"lift the piston" test. I would try setting it leaner and see how it
runs. Be sure you have oil in the dashpots on top, and if they are
worn, a little heavier oil might be good. Normal is supposed to be
something like 10W or ATF but I use regular motor oil and it seems to
be pretty good.
If your throttle shafts are worn or you have vacuum leaks, tuning
will be much less effective.
