I had my steering box rebuilt and it was reinstalled in my PV444 properly but there is still too much play in the straight ahead position. My idea is that the worm has to be renewed (they left it untouched, only renewed the bearings and seals). What else can it be? The worm is pressed onto the steering shaft, it's an integral part, but no longer available (I've got the early pre-1955 type). What should I do? What modifications will be necessary when fitting a later steering box?
