Get hold of a degree wheel & dial indicator & check the camshaft timing.

If I use proper square section O-rings on the oil pump pipe I back them up with a single regular O-ring to prevent them from poping out.

Make sure you have a decent torque wrench for the rod bolts & make sure the nuts are the right way around. Use 30w oil on the threads of all torqued bolts.
