electrical problem with my 740 GL 700 1990

I would start with the ignition contact plate. The next time it does it wiggle the key back and forth as far as you can with out shutting it off and see if that has any effect. If it fixes it you will need to replace the contact plate that is on the other end of that key and tumbler.
