Well, does the jiggling aleviate the situation? If it does then just put in the new contact plate and be done with it. It is only about an hours worth of work tops. Other than leaving you stranded somewhere though the continuous jiggle probably won't have too many other side effect, aside from wearing out your key. Seriously though, if the wiggle fixes it just stuff a new plate in it.
