You are absolutely correct...the final drive doesn't change, but the EFFECTIVE ratio does...we're just mixing "final drive" and "total reduction through the drive train" terms...Phil calculated the later...and he's right too!

From memory, the reduction of a D type OD is about .8...so I expect Phil just multiplied 4.1 X .8 = 3.28
