I think you're right about the 'order by' switch thing. I just switched it to use modified by default. The switch returned to the index last night.

As for the model thing, I'll think about it. I might have a more 'wizard' (ick) type new post form for new posters. But I suppose it's not just new posters who don't indicate the model/series. You might be right.
