You did not mention what your mechanic has determined is NOT the problem. Surely he has narrowed it down to either a fuel or an ignition problem?

Common items that could be responsible are fuelpump relay, radio suppression relay, RPM sensor (to name a few). These things would have been eliminated as a source of your problem early on by someone familiar with the cars.

What does you mechanic say when you take the car to him?
