Towing a 245 with a 1975 245

Theoretically you will be fine except for stopping. I used to haul a motorcycle trailer with two bikes (combined weight of trailer and motorcycles over 1800 lbs) and the only issue I had was the short tounge of the trailer and the lack of trailer brakes.

If you had a tow dolly with surge brakes (if such a thing exists) or electric brakes, my only concern would be the age of that tranny. Lets be honest, the BW was a rugged tranny by comparison to its contemporaries, but it is long in tooth by now.

If you are willing to assume that this might be the last trip for that tranny (got an aw71 waiting for transplant?) and you have the braking issue coverred, go for it!

Onkel Udo
