Webers are excellent carbs. Most of the bad reputation comes from people expecting to bolt them on and have them automatically be tuned -- doesn't happen that way.

For performance purposes on an inline motor, sidedrafts are inherently better, but a properly set-up DGV is just fine for a stock engine.
