Trev, I do this often. Not to check used parts, but to make sure I put things back together properly.
On a 200, the cap (black) is fairly low pressure. Being US educated(?) I am clumsy with kPa, so I will say about 8 psi. Most everytime I do have a leak, it starts blowing well before I reach that number, but I know the 700's use a cap twice as hefty, so I am not afraid to stroke the pump a few more times and watch it get to 12 or 15, just to check all the hose connections and gaskets. I haven't popped a rad tube yet that didn't deserve it.
