Check Engine Light/Diagnostics 200 1990

I can't speak to the hierarchy of the codes, but it seems to take quite a bit to set codes. My '90 has had a sooty exhaust pipe and decreased mileage for months and I have no codes.

I tried a new O2 sensor last week (OEM Bosch, $83 at Autohaus). If the problem persists, I'll try a new fuel pressure regulator and then perhaps start pulling injectors.

Does the '90 have a 5th (cold-start) injector like my '91? If so, unplug it and see if it helps. The time/temperature control on that injector can fail and cause it to run all the time. My '91 had that problem when it had 100 miles on it. You don't need that 5th injector unless you live in Canada. My car started at -10F with it unplugged.
