I bought a used Crane on eBay (so old it's actually an Allison!), put it on the PV, and have had exactly zero problems with it over the last 4 years and ~35K miles. I'm using it to fire an old Mallory Voltmaster coil, much more powerful than the tired original coil, not it can pull cleanly and crisply up to whatever redline I happen to be using (usually 7K), which was not the case with the points and OE coil.
