Yes, I did understand that some systems use the points, I was looking after the ones that replace the points in the distributor with some kind of electric system. I think Crane has one ??? Anyway I was thinking it may be good to replace the distributor and coil as well. Reading the post I saw there are issues with the tach as well when changing this. It is not all 100% clear yet to me. By the way, I enjoyed your site.
