Not sure if running dry would do that... I believe the rack on your car has some adjustment for bias though, I had to adjust it on one I had several years ago. As I recall it's a large nut under a coverplate secured with 2 bolts, on the bottom of the rack, hopefully someone else can be a bit more specific.
