760 cooling options

I have an 88 760 with a 92 5.0 and AOD in it.
I just crashed it and damaged the radiator so now is the time to do it right. The car is currently equipped with a 1990 corvette radiator and a 16" GM fan that has the DC controls fan controller on it. I believe the radiator is what JTR specified, and the fan what Converse recommends. The system was OK , but there was a lot of fluctuation in temperature that I haven’t had a chance to diagnose. I recently replaced the thermostat with a 195 degree one, and it often acted as if it weren't functioning properly. Occasionally the car wouldn't warm up on the highway perhaps an indication of a thermostat staying open?
There isn't any room for a shroud in the current configuration, and I am doing some home work to see what fits in the 7 series cars.

It seems as though a recored 760 V6 radiator may be the ticket. I'd love to have room for a fan from a ford Taurus, but I don't expect that to fit due to its depth. I really like Michael’s fans on his 240, but then we aren't comparing apples to apples.

Any of you with V8 7 series cars please chime in.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Chris
