Thanks for the inputs!

The car ('83 245 GL) has a rear axle from a 92 240--I'm also using the instrument cluster from a 92, so no speedo cable. I guess I could rig up a short cable to a VSS then wire back into the ECU. I did have a problem with the car dying on throttle lift when I first did the swap--but that was so long ago (1995) I can't remember how I solved that problem (it's hell to get older, but it beats the alternative . . .)
