Nice post!
I drove out to the Detroit Autoshow and back with a buddy of mine who's big into Auto-X this weekend(He loves my V8 Volvo by the way). On the way out we talked about the Volvo's session with the scales as, he (and I to some extent) comes from the Colin Chapman school of automobile construction--lighter is better.
He has weighed his Contour on the same scale that I weighed the Volvo on, and he thinks my numbers might be off a bit. Apparently, at the last state level competition he attended, they had a new set of Longacre scales, and his car checked in 100lbs less than on the scale I used. So I think I may be doing even better than initially thought. I think a second opinion is in order.
