1982 245 Restoration

KlausC--the logic of your suggestion is inescapable but building a "sleeper" really doesn't have anything to do with logic. The satisfaction of building and driving something unique is deeper. I've gone the route of building "all Volvo" performance cars--122 and 140 series--but the feeling while behind the wheel of my VolvOldsmobile (265 body/'63 aluminum 215 V8) is the best. I'd say, if TestPoint has the skill, knowledge and facilities-and it seems he must--go for it! My car took 3 weeks to build (albeit spread over a year and a half--but then I had limited time and $ and a fair amount of fabrication to do). Starting with the diesel body is the right move--heavier springs, vented front rotors--less original engine compartment electrics to remove. The body deserves a new life. Have fun---Dave
