I don't understand your concern with the ratios as 5th in the T5 and 6th in the T56 are exactly the same ratio. It just gives you a closer ratio in the other gears and with a 3.73 diff you get a nice low engine RPM at 110 Kms/H or 70 MPH. I used to run a T5 behind a SMF in a 78 Volvo GT That ran 3.31 ( or thereabouts) gears and it ran perfectly fine. I haven't decided for sure on the T56 yet but I am leaning that way as I will be able to pull my lightwieght trailer in 5th with much better fuel economy than having to dump down to 4th in a T5. Thanks for your response, every bit of advice is respected but not always listened to! LOL.
