It was not too difficult for me to get the 1987 Lincoln 5.0 running in an '84 760. You need the complete wiring loom from a similar mustang and the wiring diagrams from the engine and the 240.

I purchased a fuel injection book written by Charles Probst that explained the ins and outs of the Ford fuel injection system. This book was invaluable to me as it explained what all of the sensors, switches, and solenoid valves are supposed to be doing to make the engine run. In the end there are not too many wires that need to be connected to get the engine running.

My 760 was a diesel so the in tank and main fuel pump, their wiring, and fuel lines had to be run, so there was some addition work required that wouldn't need to done if the car was gasoline powered to begin with.

Fuel injected engines run so nice, that it would be hard for me to go back to the old carburetor.
