starter relay

i think i asked wrong... i was using the fender mount relay from the older ford single wire starter as an example. but its actually being used on a GM gear reduction starter from my LT1... i am gonna do a lil experiment with my starter tomorrow and if it works the way i was expecting then i had the right idea in my head... simons diagram helps a bit, but i think there is a slight difference in the 745 and a 244 and my car is a 79 and the wireing seems to be significantly different from like 84-93 240s..
