What helps pass emmissions?

Just to add to my other post.

Make sure the car is at operating temperature. Hotter burns cleaner. Check the codes. I had a Map sensor that was bad. I did plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Then the MAP sensor because it was giving me a code. The car passed with those changes.
